Focus.one is the brand-new vision of a ministry with a 17-year history of effective discipleship, leadership training, and personal development. In 1993, Pastor Jeremy DeWeerdt founded the Rockford Masterʼs Commission, a program dedicated to providing a nine-month, intensive experience with the mission of knowing God and making Him known. More than 1,000 alumni have graduated out from RMC, many of them going into full-time ministry positions all around the world. Others continued their education and entered into the career field of their choice, prepared to influence culture.
In 2007, Pastor Jeremy and his wife Jen became the lead pastors of our home church, Rockford First. Pastor Jeremy continues to be involved as the Executive Director and looks to his long time assistant director, Taka Iguchi, to serve as the Director of this discipleship ministry. Jeremy and Taka have known each other and worked together for over 15 years, giving the executive leadership team 30 years of combined experience. This synergistic relationship fosters an environment of limitless ministry and relationship opportunities that enhance your student experience.
In 2009, the staff of RMC was led by God to begin a reinvention process. With the wisdom gained through 17 successful years of running the Rockford Master's Commission, we were brought back to a few simple, yet profound, points: the importance of prayer, the Word of God, and serving. God created the world in six days... imagine what He can do with your life in one year. The mission of focus.one is simple: Give God one year. One year of undistracted pursuit of God and His priorities. After that, you may pursue further training or education for the career of your choice. Either way, you will leave focus.one prepared to be a positive God-influence on the world around you. What if everyone gave one? What if everyone gave one year to focus on God and His priorities?
